I am thrilled to share with you a significant step in my journey. Starting January 2024, I will be joining Common Ground Resolutions in a role as a neutral mediator, arbitrator, and private judge, specializing in family law cases.
After a rewarding 13-year tenure as a family law judge at the Kern County Superior Court, presiding over and delivering rulings on a myriad of complex cases, including business and property valuation, premarital agreements, child custody, and spousal support, I am prepared to bring my expertise to this new venture.
During my tenure, I supervised the family law department, overseeing intricate long-cause and settlement calendar matters. Additionally, my previous experience encompassed presiding over civil matters and serving on the Superior Court’s appellate panel for a decade.
Partnering with Dr. Charree Kashwer MFT, renowned for her invaluable role in aiding parents to reach consensus in challenging custody and visitation disputes, I am enthusiastic about offering a multidisciplinary approach to our clients. This collaboration will leverage our collective experience to guide individuals away from the financial strain, unpredictability, and stress of prolonged litigation.
I am genuinely proud to contribute my diverse background as a judge in both civil trial court and family law towards assisting clients in navigating intricate legal landscapes while fostering resolutions that prioritize amicable outcomes.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to the opportunity to assist and guide you through this journey.
Warm regards,
Stephen D. Schuett
